AutoTech publishes more than one floor-mat construction. This comparison uses the figures on those pages. It does not call one mat the best for every car, and it does not give X-Liner a thickness, because that number is not on these pages.
7D: the 12 mm coil-layer mat
The 7D page describes a custom-fitted mat. The coil layer is the soft underfoot part. Thickness is 12 mm, from foam and premium PVC leather. The surface is embroidered, and the page calls the material waterproof and stain-resistant. Colours shown there are beige, black, black tan, blue black, gray black, red black and tan.
The warranty for this line is 1 year from purchase and excludes the coil mat.
Lamination mats: 1.8 mm PVC leather
The lamination mat specifications list high-quality PVC leather at 1.8 mm. Dimensions are customisable to various car models. Colours are described as a range that can match the interior, not as the seven named 7D finishes. The surface is an anti-slip texture. The backing is non-slip with hook velcro. The page also lists water resistance, stain resistance and UV resistance, and cleaning with a damp cloth or vacuum.
Split mats: the same thickness, with edge and grip detail
The split mat page says the mat is crafted from premium 1.8 mm PVC leather. It repeats the anti-slip surface, hook velcro backing, water, stain and UV resistance, and wipe-or-vacuum cleaning. It adds reinforced edges and says the 1.8 mm thickness is there to shield the floor from dirt, spills and damage. Fit is described as precision customisation for various car models, with colours in a variety rather than a fixed 7D list.
A direct reading of the difference
- Choose the 7D page when you want the thicker coil-layer construction and the embroidered surface.
- Choose lamination or split when you want the 1.8 mm PVC leather construction and the velcro backing those pages describe.
- Match either mat to the car model. None of these pages presents a single universal sheet as the proper fit.
- Seat covers, neck rests and lumbar supports are separate products. Their pages do not use these millimetre figures.
